The Friends Lottery
Warsash Local History Society opened the Warsash Heritage Centre in 2011. Initial financing came from a legacy from the late Roy Knight . Since then , the Centre been supported through a variety of fund raising activities, donations for specific projects, plus some support from Fareham and Hampshire County Councils.
Funds to support the rental of the premises are difficult to obtain and our lottery has become one of the main sources of income. It enables us to both keep the Centre open and plan for the long term future of the archives (including making them available online).
The sum of £4.00 per month or £48 annually acquires one entry for each of twelve draws. The draws are made at the regular meetings of the Society which are held on the first Wednesday in April, June, October, December and February. The amount of the prize money is determined by the number of lottery members with half of the monthly proceeds allocated to prize money and half to support the Heritage Centre. At 31st March .2021 there were 42 members resulting in a monthly prize of £84.
The Lottery is licensed by Fareham Borough Council.
