As part of the National Heritage week 2024, on Saturday 14th September between 11 am & 3pm Warsash Local History Society is holding a half day pop up event at the Dovecote, reputed to be one of the oldest buildings in Warsash, on the corner of Thornton Avenue and Crofton Way.
For a small entry fee there will be a short guided tour/ viewing including the opportunity to see a WW2 air raid shelter. Other attractions include a steam traction engine & possibly vintage cars [subject to weather].
If you travel by car to the event please use public parking where possible Please don’t park on Thornton Avenue..
To book your time slot for the above event phone 07771 637707 .
Entry is £2 in advance or £3 on the day. Entrance for children is free, but they must be accompanied by a paying adult. We are expecting this to be a popular attraction – if you intend to purchase entry on the day there is no guarantee of availability.
All proceeds will be in support of Warsash Local History Society . There will also be a small stall selling WLHS publications , including the newly published ‘Warsash House Estate’ book which includes detailed information on the Dovecote .
I paid £4 in cash and booked a 14.15 slot for dovecote and was told we would receive email conformation. Never happened?
